UPDATE: Persons of Interest in Salina Homicide Located

UPDATE: According to a statement on the Salina Police Department Facebook page, Valerie Ann Vogel was located at 2:05 p.m. and Mika Lee Thille was located at 2:45 p.m. Further details have not been released.

Salina Police are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2018.

According to a media release from the department, officers were dispatched to a residence at 703 State Street at about 3:43 a.m. Friday morning in response to a report of shots fired. Upon entering the residence, officers found that a 30-year-old white male had been shot. Salina Fire Department EMS checked the male and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Detectives have interviewed witnesses who were inside the residence at the time of shooting. No suspects are in custody at this time, but police have identified two persons of interest and are actively searching for these two individuals:

  • Mika Lee Thille, 25, a 5’9″, 160 lbs. white male with brown hair and blue eyes.
  • Valerie Ann Vogel, 24, a 5’6″, 138 lbs. white female with brown hair and green eyes.

Salina Police wish to interview these individuals in regards to this event.

The 30-year-old victim has not been identified. The police department is in the process of notifying the next-of-kin, according to the release.
