Two Injured in Lincoln County Semi Crash

LINCOLN COUNTY – Two people were taken to the hospital after a single vehicle crash that occurred just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning in Lincoln County.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Freightliner semi driven by Nikaj Amarildo, 44, Grand Blanc, Mich., was traveling westbound on Interstate 70, about 7 1/2 miles east of the K-157 junction, when it entered the north ditch, struck a delineator post, overcorrected, and entered the median.

The semi then entered the eastbound lanes and overturned, coming to rest in the eastbound lanes, facing north.

Amarildo, and a passenger, Adrian M. Endsley, 43, Lacona, N.Y., were both taken to Salina Regional Health with suspected minor injuries.

Amarildo was properly restrained at the time of the crash, while Endsley was not, according to the KHP report.
