Vandal Causes More than $7,000 in Damage at Salina School

Salina Police are investigating after someone caused more than $7,000 worth of damage at a Salina high school.

Police say sometime between 8:40 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, school staff discovered that someone had taken a large container of hand sanitizer, roamed the halls of the school, and dumped the sanitizer on the walls and floor. The sanitizer ate through the finish on the floor.

Total damage has been estimated at $7,250.

Police say they are reviewing surveillance footage. The investigation is ongoing.
