Shots Fired into Central Salina Apartment

Salina Police are investigating after shots were fired into an apartment early Wednesday morning.

Police said at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, officers were sent to the 500 block of State Street for a report of shots fired from a rifle behind the apartments.

Officers made contact with a 49-year-old Salina man who said his apartment had been shot at. Three bullet holes were found on the east wall of the apartment that entered into the residence.

Another resident, a 55-year-old Salina man, said he also heard the gun shots and a single bullet hole was found in his apartment on the south that came through a window and entered a bedroom.

Officers found 10 spent .40-caliber shell casings in the alley behind the apartments. Police said no one was injured and at the time there is no estimate of damage to the window and walls.

No arrests have been made. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
