On Monday, Salina Fire Department presented awards to Jordan & Adrian Teasley and Riley Hawbaker at the Salina City Commission Meeting. These 3 individuals were instrumental in providing life saving CPR with the use of an AED prior to Salina Fire Departments arrival. They were able to initiate the first 3 steps in the American Heart Associations Chain of survival. These steps are: Recognition and activation of the Emergency Response system, Immediate high-quality CPR, and Rapid Defibrilation. SFD and Salina Regional Health Center was able to focus on the last two in the chain: Basic and Advanced Emergency Services, and Advanced Life Support and Postarrest Care.
