Liberty QB, Return Specialist Earn Weekly Honors

Two Salina Liberty players have earned weekly honors from the league.

On Wednesday, the league named quarterback Mitch Kidd the Week 10 offensive player of the week and return specialist Dominique Carson the Week 10 special teams player of the week for their performances in Saturday’s 61-54 win over the Dodge City Law.

Kidd, who started in place of injured quarterback Tyrie Adams, had 209 total yards of offense, an 84% completion percentage, and 8 total touchdowns (6 passing, 2 rushing).

Carson had 2 returns for 61 yards, which included a 50 yard return for a touchdown.

With the win Saturday, the Liberty improved to 8-0 on the season. The Liberty are now enjoying their final bye week of the regular season and will return to action on Saturday, June 12 with a road trip at Omaha to face the second place Beef (4-3). Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Ralston Arena.
