Tescott Man Dies in Saline County Farming Accident

SALINE COUNTY – A Tescott man died in a farming accident in rural northwestern Saline County Saturday morning.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Robert F. Minneman, 66, was operating an International Harvester 1066 Farmall tractor just before 10 a.m. Saturday in the 6200 block of N. Brookville Road.

Minneman had pulled the tractor onto a slight incline and shut the engine off. A few moments later, the tractor began to roll backwards. Realizing the tractor was still in neutral, Minneman attempted to jump back onto it to shut it off, missed a step, and was run over by a tractor tire.

Minneman’s brother attempted CPR, but was not able to revive him. He died at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral services for Minneman are scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Tescott High School gymnasium.
