Saline County Food Establishment and Lodging Inspections, September 29 – October 5, 2018

Food Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Saline County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from September 29 through October 5, 2018.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Also, at the time of the inspection, violations are recorded, but are often corrected on site prior to the inspector leaving the establishment.

AMC Theatres Salina , 2259 S. 9th St. (October 3) Routine Inspection
– Jars of cleaners stored on shelf above pizza cutting area. Corrected on site: cleaners moved below hand washing sink.

Bishop Street Tavern, 717 Bishop St. (October 1) Routine Inspection
– No violations.

Chuck’s, 600 N. Santa Fe Ave. (October 3) Routine Inspection
– Case of individual canned juice was stored touching bottles of microbial cleaner in the storage/ice room of the south bar. Corrected on site: moved juice to chair inside the room.
– Soap for dispensers was stored above cases of wine in the office area. Corrected on site: moved soap to the floor.
– Kitchen door was propped open approximately two inches without a screen to protect from pest entry.
– North bar beer tap non-food contact surface of metal had an accumulation of mold.
– Ceiling above prep area in kitchen was covered in dust.

Days Inn Motel, 407 W. Diamond Dr. (October 1) Courtesy Inspection
– No violations.
– Note: Person in charge self reported due to guest complaint. Room was also inspected by licensed pest control operator and closed until inspected by regulatory authority. No evidence of infestation, room allowed to be opened.

McDonald’s, 701 S. Broadway Blvd. (October 2) Complaint Inspection
– Sliced tomatoes on prep line had temperature of 48 degrees F for an unknown amount of time. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Individual packages of real butter had temperature of 70 degrees F inside chill counter at front register area for unknown amount of time. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Reconstituted onions inside lobby reach-in cooler had temperature of 65 degrees F for an unknown amount of time. Person in charge stated onions were made the morning of inspection. Temperature taken at 3:45 p.m. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Sliced cheese had temperature of 67 degrees F on prep line. Person in charge uses Time as Public Health Control. Cheese was not marked with a time and time removed from 41 degrees F is unknown. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Coffee machine cleaner stored on top of cappuccino machine. Corrected on site: moved to chemical storage area.

Rodeo, 1501 S. 9th St. (October 1) Follow Up Inspection
– No violation.

Salina Ambassador Hotel & Conference Center, 1616 W. Crawford St. (October 1) Courtesy Inspection
– No violations.
– Note: person in charge requested inspection of rooms 160, 142 and 219 due to receiving complaint. Rooms were closed by person in charge until inspected by regulatory authority. No evidence of infestation found.
