SALINA – Salina residents are invited to be a part of history Thursday evening as the Stiefel Theatre tower will once again be lit in downtown Salina.
According to Theatre Executive Director Jane Gates, the newly restored tower will be illuminated with a premier light show, which will follow brief remarks and recognition. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday. Those attending are encouraged to gather at or near the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Walnut Street.
Souvenir Stiefel face masks will be available for $10. Only a limited number of the masks will be sold, so please reserve yours by calling the Stiefel at 785-827-1998 or by emailing email@example.com. If any masks are remaining, they will made be available for sale at the lighting event.
The top of the original tower was destroyed by lightning in the 1950’s. The tower was restored to be exactly as it was originally built in 1931, according to Gates.
