Salina Native Says PPE Kept Her Safe While in New York

SALINA – Salina native Trinket Kinderknecht, LPN, spent her summer in a Brooklyn, New York hospital on a 44-bed COVID unit. Each day she donned gloves, a full-body covering, face shield, and N95 mask and surgical mask to care for her patients.

“I learned a lot there and taught a lot,” she said. “It was quite the life-changing experience!”

Trinket was tested twice a week and had an antibody test performed prior to leaving. Thankfully, all testing came back negative.

“I truly feel that my proper hand washing and wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) kept me safe!”

Back home, Trinket is a clinical liaison for Lincoln Park Manor Home Health, which serves 29 Kansas counties including Saline County.
