#MatchMadnessGSCF2019Salina’s day long giving extravaganza, Match Madness, is just around the corner. To add some fun to this year’s event some of our zoo residents are getting into the spirit of the event by forming their own teams. This year two teams will be vying for your donations to Rolling Hill Zoo’s endowment fund. Our second team’s mascot, representing the KC Conquerors, is George the Giraffe. This team is strong on both defense and offense and taking no prisoners, leaving it all on the court for the win. When it comes to wins, saving wildlife from extinction is an important part of Rolling Hills Zoo’s mission and one we honor each and every day. Join us in touching hearts and igniting a passion for wildlife during Match Madness on March 21st, in person from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Salina Fieldhouse or online at www.MatchMadnessGSCF.org. Happy Birthday to our Great Apes!
Yes, we will be celebrating the birthdays of three of our great apes this Saturday, March 16th for Great Ape Day during Spring Break: GO WILD!, and YOU are invited to the party as our orangutan, Mango turns 27, and chimpanzees, Tohlo turns 38 and Shudak turns 41 years old.

Festivities will begin at 12:00 p.m. noon in the Great Ape Building as the keepers put out the “presents” for our birthday boys which will include all kinds of their favorite treats. The keepers will also be decorating the rooms for the party, and once the party begins be ready for lots of celebrating by all!

Come and wish Mango, Tohlo and Shudak a Happy Birthday and be sure to sign their birthday card!

And if you are so inclined and want to bring a present for our great apes’ birthdays, they would love to receive new sports balls of all shapes and sizes. These can be used as part of their enrichment as they play their own version of March Madness! Donated balls will be collected at admissions in the Wildlife Museum building and used throughout the year with the great apes.

Kids, be sure to wear your favorite sports attire so our birthday boys know which teams you are rooting for this year!

Mango, Tohlo and Shudak look forward to seeing you this Saturday for their Birthday Party at Rolling Hills Zoo!
