Two Killed in Osborne County Rollover Crash

OSBORNE COUNTY – Two people died in a rollover crash in Osborne County at about 10:48 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report, a 2002 Jeep Laredo was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 281, about 11 1/5 miles south of the town of Osborne, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, back onto the roadway, crossed the centerline, went off the roadway to the left, and came back onto the roadway. The vehicle then began to roll an unknown number of times into the east ditch at mile marker 182 and came to rest on its roof.

Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as Thomas F. Scott, 85, and Nyla J. Scott, 77, both of Chambers, Neb.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that it was not known who was driving at the time of the crash, but neither occupant was property restrained.
