What are you doing there?

January is Walk Your Dog Month! Get up, get moving and don’t let the plummeting winter temperatures slow you down. Dogs need plenty of exercise throughout the year and the best way to keep them active in winter is to take them for regular walks. Even a short walk around the block on a cold day can make a big difference. So, begin this year with a pledge — better health for you and your dog!

HOW TO OBSERVE WALK YOUR DOG MONTH
1. Shake things up. Change your walking route so that your dog has something new to sniff at. Dogs learn by discovering their surroundings and need some excitement every now and then.

2. Get some company. Get a friend with a dog to walk with you. Not only will you enjoy a good chat, you can also keep each other motivated to walk in the winter!

3. Throw a dog sweater party in the park. Now, that’s another reason to walk all the way to the park! Make sure you have plenty of treats.

WHY WALK YOUR DOG MONTH IS IMPORTANT
A. Your dog’s health depends on it. To stay healthy and live long, dogs need plenty of exercise, even in winter. Besides, a walk is good for your health too!

B. Walking is in their genes. Most dog breeds have been selectively developed for herding, sporting, or working. Which means they need to stay active, or they will become hyper and resort to excessive chewing, digging, and scratching.

C. It’s a great way to bond. Spending quality time walking and bonding with your dog is the best way to beat the gloomy and lonely winters!

January is Unchain a Dog Month. There is nothing a dog likes better than being free. These beautiful creatures thrive on the love and companionship of their human friends. Being tethered for long hours is detrimental to their physical and psychological health. Unfortunately, many dogs across the globe live in chains, in backyards, in cramped spaces, sometimes battling extreme cold or heat. Unchain A Dog Month was created to spread awareness about these conditions. So, encourage people to bring the dogs in this winter. A home is where they belong.

HOW TO CELEBRATE
1. Adopt a dog that has been surrendered and give him/her the great life they deserve!

2. Offer a doggy day in or out. Offer to watch a friend’s dog. Get him home on a cold day, or weather permitting, take him to the dog park to play with his canine friends. Your reward? A furry friend for life!

3. Have a leash-free dog party. Dog treats, party favors and some great music to bark along. May we suggest -- "Who let the dogs out".

If you see a chained up dog that does not have access to food, water and shelter, please give us a call at (785) 826-6535.

Would like to tie up the owners and see how they like it!! 🤬

Y’all are a bunch of ungrateful jerks! Every year this happens and it makes me sick. You know it’s easy to judge when you don’t work behind the scenes. Your perception is based off of only what you know—so stop making accusations about them being fake and throwing your tantrums. It’s an opportunity to earn a little extra money—something that sadly most people could really use—so be grateful for the OPPORTUNITY, because we live in a state and/or country that offers it to us! I didn’t win anything, but that’s fine, I’ll try again next year! You must find the positives in this negative world! Spread love, and you get love. Spread hate and judgement and I guarantee you won’t win next year, either. Think about it! 🥰

I always check my tickets myself on the Kansas Lottery website! I don't understand why you people don't do this instead of going to the store to have them checked.

Kansas lottery does this mean that if we checked our tickets Thursday night there might have been winners even if it said not a winner

Would there be anyway to see if people may have won a prize if we scanned our tickets in on our play on app? Because I checked my tickets at the store way before 1 o'clock & they all said not a winner so I put them in the stores shredder :(

W T F it said mine were all losers so I threw them away. That's some BULLSHIT. You guys need to at least give everyone their money back that bought them. #CANYOUSAYCROOKED!!

If you checked your tickets yesterday, would it tell you if it was a winner, but just couldn't validate it to cash it? Or were they all saying not a winner?

Yep and all numbers are pre drawn nobody seen the drawing which means you could have already known someone’s number and just said that’s the number drew hum personally think its a scam

I think people need to contact the Attorney Generals office for FRAUD!!!

Really mine said all losers so thrown away

Sounds like this raffle was run like they do the casinos, tight ass machines hardly have a chance anymore to break even. Maybe they need to be looked at a little closer as well.

Omg I shredded all my tickets in a shredder at the store before this time because they all said they were loosers :(

200,000 has six numbers all my tickets had 8 numbers???

It was a “live” drawing...how come the numbers were already drawn and just announced? 🤨

I was so hoping I’d won the big money

Trashed mine too said not a winner then said something else but went to fast could not read it so had lady that works there check it said not a winner so we trashed it

I rip my ticket up yesterday after I checked it😡🤬

Won't buy my ticket so early no more..never win anything again!

How do I see a complete list of bigger winners ? Kansas_Lottery

My tickets said "not a winner" so I threw them away. No way to check them now. Will think twice before buying any next time. I'm not saying this is fake, just wish I would have known this before I shredded my tickets. 😡

We are aware of an issue with players being unable to cash their $50 or $100 Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets this morning. We're working on the issue now and will hopefully have it fixed soon! Please hold onto your tickets! ... See MoreSee Less

3rd year in a row multiple tickets don't think I will partake next year

I had 12 tickets and not one single instant or other winner. Saddening

Lol another KS fail. You need to do a lottery that you can win something, a lottery with better odds.

I cashed my $50 winning ticket in yesterday afternoon with no problems!!!😀

Threw my ticket away

Threw mine away also!!!! Hmmmmm!!!!

Jennifer McCay

Me too

I will check my tickets when I get back from out of state if they will still be able to be checked & claimed.

Cant cash, because they are broke like the rest of us.

Just to clarify...Checked tickets yesterday evening. Not a winner the scanner read. Should I have saved them and checked them today? Trashed them after I checked.

The transmission just wen out on our 2nd car and we couldve used a win, but congrats to the winner

I would buy my children a home to raise my grandchildren in.

Get my husband health care pay off debts build a place to help kids, disabled, poor in my community

Funny...where's the SwagBag??

Congrats to whom ever the winner may be.

I would pay everything off

Congratsto the winner!!!

Congrats to the winner!

I personally never saw the bag either, I must have missed it

Congratulations to the winner 🎆😊

Did anyone see the swag bag?

I never saw the swag bag.. but if I won the raffle million, I'd pay off debt, donate, and put the rest in savings.

Swag bag! If I won $1 million, I’d pay off all my debt then buy a new home and travel!

With the $1 Million I’d pay off all debts (student loans, house, car, etc.), then invest in the kids’ futures!

Thanks for making it a mouse hunt finding the live video!

What a beautiful dog.

Stop telling people he is house trained. I owned him for a while and he definitely is not house trained. Here is the truth about him: Good: he rides well in a vehicle and doesn’t get into you mirrors, he is affectionate and is in your pocket 24-7 of you let him, he doesn’t attempt to jump fences when turned out to run and go to the bathroom, he would do best as an only pet, he kennels well when covered, he wants to be loved Bad: he will poop every single time you bring him in the house and let him run (no matter how long he is out and how many times a day he goes out), he is aggressive with cats (my 12 yr old rag doll was terrified by him pinning her under the sofa), he has food aggression, he has very few basics, (but did learn sit with hand signals), he will pull you around when on a leash, he is not good with children under 10 (he will knock them down and walk away), do not get him and expect him to sleep in bed with you (he will kick the crap out of you all night and jump in/out of bed causing you to get no sleep), he is a whiner when he can’t be right up against you, He’s not a bad dog, he just didn’t get the training he needed as a puppy. In the right home and with someone who can spend a lot of their time training him in the beginning he will make an awesome pet. He needs to live in a house and not an apartment as his crying when you are gone will drive the neighbors crazy. I pray he finds the right home, but he won’t if the potential owners aren’t told the truth. That why we couldn’t keep him. I’m disabled and his constant 💩 on my carpet was just too much. I now have cleaned my entire living room, hall, and bedroom carpet. I could have worked through everything else.

Kody Trower weren't we speaking of great Danes at work?

Princeton is a 1 year old Aussie looking for a forever home. He needs an experienced dog owner who will be patient with his training. He is a sweet boy who needs to be kept busy and would thrive with a job to do! He will need A LOT of daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy. He gets along with most dogs...it would be a good idea to bring your dog with you to meet him just to be sure. He is almost house trained. Come meet him at Salina Animal Services today!

These guys are highly intelligent AND intense. Besides love and affection, adequate shelter, plenty of fresh (not frozen) water and adequate, nutritionally sound food, and at least an annual vet visit... a job is definitely a requirement to keep them healthy and happy (physically AND mentally). Daily exercise, to the point of exhaustion, is a given. DO NOT sell him short... if you cannot provide what Princeton needs, move on.

Thanks to the shelter for all they do to find loving homes for these prescious dogs. Making a video to show us the choices is outstanding!
