PepperJax Grill To Open Salina Location

PepperJax Grill will open at Salina Square later this year. Megan Prejzner, Communications Manager for the Omaha-based restaurant chain, tells The Salina Scoop the company is currently planning on a late spring-early summer opening. “Probably sometime in June,” she said. PepperJax specializes in made-to-order Philly steak sandwiches, as well as gourmet rice bowls, giant burritos, loaded nachos, and fresh salads. Section of Kipp Road Reopened After Road Work

A section of Kipp Road from Fremont Road to Camarena Road has been reopened after a road work project. A Saline County Road and Bridge Department crew replaced a deteriorated drainage structure near the Kyle Railroad tracks where the tracks cross Kipp Road. The location is south of Fremont Road and approximately 0.25 mile south of the Ottawa County line. The road was reopened today.

On March 15, 2017, the South Inman Cemetery, at the corner of 8th and Buckskin, was vandalized by someone driving through the fence. The vehicle then struck and damaged numerous headstones. Debris left at the scene indicates the vehicle may be charcoal gray in color and might be a Honda. It would have heavy front end damage as well. Section of Lapsley Road to Close for Road Work

Lapsley Road from Donmyer Road to Amos Road will be closed beginning tomorrow morning, March 23rd to permit a Saline County Road and Bridge Department crew to replace a deteriorated cross road culvert pipe located 0.25 mile east of Amos Road and then rebuild a portion of this roadway. The work is expected to take one week to complete, weather permitting.

Salina Tech Vehicle Extravaganza Set for April 1

Salina Area Technical College’s eighth annual Vehicle Extravaganza will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1 on the college’s campus. Each year, the event attracts vehicles of every description from across Kansas and the Midwest, including antique and customized cars, trucks and tractors, sports cars and even bicycles. More than 200 vehicles were on display during the 2016 show. The event also includes three food trucks, activities for children and a DJ. Admission to the show is free to the public.
