Signing up to be a part of the Guppy Gang at Central Mall, is pretty cool in itself.   On Thursday, kids got something a little extra special, for being part of this group.   Salina Central Mall hosted Guppy Gang Storytime & Snacks with Santa, on Thursday evening.   Kids started by doing crafts. Salina Saints Coaching Clinic

Salina Saints head basketball coach, Andre Favors, stepped out on a different court, last night. This time, it was all in the name of teaching. 10 YMCA basketball coaches gathered on Tuesday evening. They were given coaching tips, and a pep talk or two. The evening included teaching different basketball shots, such as layups and ball handling. With a mentor teaching other mentors, it was a great evening. Everyone involved learned that they have a very important role in the lives of kids, both on and off the court.

KBI Issues Statement on AMBER Alert Review

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation earlier this week issued a statement regarding the review of the Kansas AMBER Alert program. The Kansas AMBER Alert program, coordinated by the KBI, is a vitally important tool to aid in the safe return of abducted children. The KBI recognizes that the program must operate with the greatest efficiency possible. Since the program’s launch in 2002, 35 AMBER alerts have been issued. Of these alerts, 12 were activated at the request of other states in regard to cases occurring in their jurisdictions. Kansas issued the remaining 23 alerts which involved 29 children. Salina Veteran Takes Trip of a Lifetime

Bill Pericotti just took the trip of a lifetime. A trip that he would gladly do over again. Bill is a Vietnam Veteran. He served his country for 21 years. In 2014, he discovered Cans for Veterans, Kansas Honor Flights. Cans for Veterans is an organization, that seeks to give all war Veterans the chance to travel to our nation’s capital, Washington DC.
