Looking for a way to give back to our community? Consider serving on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The board advises the City Commission and Park and Recreation department on improvements and ongoing maintenance of parks and facilities. They focus on the enhancement of the quality of life for the citizens through a planned program of constructive, socially acceptable leisure-time activities. The board also studies and suggests policies for the golf course, swimmin…g pool and neighborhood centers. The board consists of eight adult members, with two members designated by the USD 305, a City Commissioner liaison plus two Youth on Board members (ages 15-20). Members meet monthly on the third Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. Individuals who are interested in applying for this board should do so by August 9.
