Computer Repair Service

The latest scam scenario is still a call from "Microsoft" claiming htey have found errors on your computer and wil fix it for a fee. Microsoft does not call customers. These are absolutely scams. Hang up. If you've already allowed them to "help" you, your computer is infected and will soon begin to show signs of trouble. Next, they'll ca;ll back to check and get even more money from you. I can remove the infection and restore your system to like new performance.

We are seeing recorded calls, and messages left on answering devices claiming to be from the IRS. The message says "You're being sued by the IRS and you need to call back." The IRS doesn't contact people like this, and you should not call back. Just hang up. ... See MoreSee Less

I received a call like this last week. Considering I did my taxes and had a refund already on the way, I definitely didn't believe them.

Yes, we received such a call a few days ago. Disgusting.

Customers are reporting a blue pop-up that instructs them to not re-start their computer, and to call a number for "help". Again we would like to stress: Do not let anyone scare you into allowing them access to your computer. The same goes for calls claiming to be from the Justice Department, and Microsoft. Just hang up. Do not get tricked into allowing access to your computer. ... See MoreSee Less

Regarding Windows 10: What we are finding is that several users have already ugraded and seem to like Windows 10. We have also had several users who did NOT like it and went back to Windows 7. Our trials in the office indicate thst is is much more difficult from a technical perspective (many of the roadmaps we learned with Winsows 7 are gone and we have to re-learn them), but from a user perspective, it is OK .......... sort of:. There are several programs that have to be re-loaded after the upgrade and sometimes the old license doesn't work.
I recommend that you check with us before you upgrade.

Just a reminder, there are lots of tech support scams out there right now, as well as telephone calls posing as the IRS and other Government agencies. Please do not let anybody remote into your computer as the result of a cold telephone call. Microsoft doesn't call you, and the IRS would send you a letter instead of blindly calling you on the telephone. ... See MoreSee Less

Well, someone is Phishing as the IRS. PLEASE be careful!! The IRS will send a letter through the Post Office if they need to contact you.

I received the call frown 630 690 2390. I was told to call 206 201 2519. I was asked if I was James. James was my dad's name and he died in 2009. Obviously a scam. PLEASE be CAREFUL!!!

These scammers calling on the phone and posing as Microsoft are getting increasingly bold and vindictive. Folks, do not let anybody remote into your computer who calls you on the telephone and claims to be Microsoft. A new tactic once they are in your computer is to lock you out of your computer with a password if you won't pay them. I've been able to fix one of these. Bottom line: Microsoft does not call and offer to fix computers by remote. Microsoft does no cold calling. If somebody calls and claims to be Microsoft and wants in to your computer, it is a scam, ALWAYS. End of story. Please don't fall for these scammers. They are trying real hard to prevent my being able to fix the damage that they do, and I never know from one case to the next if they are going to have been successful. Don't let them remote in. ... Friends, if you get a phone call from somebody telling you that you have a virus on your computer, this is a scam, every single time. Microsoft doesn't call people to alert them of viruses, nobody is calling to alert you of an infection. These calls are cold calls, they have been known to call people who don't even own computers. Please don't fall for these scams. If you see something strange on your computer, or think you may be infected, call your Geeks. We would be glad to answer questions or help you by remote if that is what you need. Don't turn your computer over to a stranger just because they cold called your number from a telemarketing list. ... See MoreSee Less

There are lots of "Shipping Scams" going around lately. Spammers send you an e-mail that says you have a package that wasn't able to be delivered, and that you should click on a link in the e-mail to print a shipping label, or claim the package. Please don't click links in these e-mails, you will likely end up infected with malware.

If you think you have a package to check on, go directly to the shipper's website and track it from there. Don't click on links in unsolicited e-mails.
