Kansas Leaders, Schwan’s Company Announce 225 New Jobs, New ‘World-class’ Facility in Salina

SALINA – Gov. Laura Kelly announced Monday a major expansion in Salina with the Schwan’s Company and Tony’s Pizza. The project is set to add 225 new full-time jobs and secure the long-time future of more than 1,000 current Schwan’s employees, according to the governor. The project will also include a new 400,000 square foot, highly-automated, state-of-art pizza making facility, officials with the company said. The governor was joined by Sen. UPDATE: Familial Match Found in 1986 Saline County Murder Case

UPDATE: The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says a familial match has been made with an unidentified woman who was found murdered more than three decades ago in Saline County. According to a statement issued Monday morning by Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, DNA and dental records have confirmed the identity of the woman, whose body was found in Mulberry Creek west of Salina on January 25, 1986. Investigators were not able to identify the woman at the time and she was given the nickname “Miss Molly”. Her murder remains unsolved. SAN ANTONIO, Tex. – Whataburger confirmed Friday it will be expanding its market into Kansas. The expansion will also include Missouri and Tennessee, according to a press release. The report compiles crime statistics reported to the KBI by state and local law enforcement agencies across Kansas.
