Pedestrian Injured in McPherson County Crash

MCPHERSON COUNTY – A pedestrian was hospitalized early Thursday morning after being struck during the course of a four vehicle crash in McPherson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Marcus Scott Ehrhardt, 31, Herington, was traveling westbound in the 200 block of U.S. Highway 56 in the city of Galva just before 6:30 a.m. At the same time, a 2007 Kenworth semi driven by Steven Dale Albrecht, 60, Salina, was pulling out of a driveway to go eastbound, when the pickup struck the semi’s trailer.

The pickup then struck two parked vehicles, a 1992 Ford Bronco and a 1990 Chevrolet passenger car, and a pedestrian, identified as Troy Daryl Regier, 62, Canton, in the parking lot of a welding shop, according to the KHP.

Regier was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of suspected serious injuries. His condition was not immediately available. Ehrhardt and Albrecht were not injured. The parked vehicles were not occupied.

The KHP reports that both drivers were properly restrained at the time crash.
