Minnesota Man Injured in Single Vehicle Ellsworth County Crash

ELLSWORTH COUNTY – A Minnesota man was injured Tuesday in a single vehicle crash in Ellsworth County Tuesday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 Stewart & Stevenson truck driven by Aspen Lee Watson, 23, Casper, Wyo., was traveling westbound on Interstate 70, about 1/10th of a mile east of 21st Road, when she lost control of the vehicle on the slick roadway, and struck an exit sign.

Watson, and a passenger, Ian Vincent Ari Nicolades, 27, Sandpoint, Idaho, were not injured. A second passenger, Kyle Raymond Caldwell, 31, Brooklyn Center, Minn., was taken to Salina Regional Health Center treatment of suspected serious injuries.

All three occupants of the vehicle were properly restrained at the time of the crash, which occurred just after 5:30 p.m., according to the KHP report.
