Authorities Searching for Individuals Involved in Rural Dickinson County Shooting

DICKINSON COUNTY – Authorities in Dickinson and Saline Counties are investigating a Friday shooting in rural Dickinson County.

According to a media release from Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman, the Sheriff’s Department was sent to Abilene Memorial Hospital after a victim of a shooting checked into the emergency room. Upon arrival, deputies found that Michael Kohman, 40, Solomon, had sustained a gunshot wound to his right lower leg. Kohman had been transported to Abilene Memorial by personal vehicle, and was later transported by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center.

Hoffman said the incident occurred in the 200 block of 1700 Avenue at the Kohman residence. Deputies have secured that residence and conducted a search warrant of the property.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department along with the Salina Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office are actively looking for several individuals that they believe have information on the shooting.
