Windy and Warmer Wednesday

Stronger south winds will bring in much warmer air with highs in the upper 70’s to mid-80’s across central and eastern Kansas.

Very high to extreme grassland fire danger will impact much of central, south-central and southeast Kansas through Saturday. The highest fire danger will likely be Wednesday. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Very high to extreme grassland fire danger is expected on Wednesday afternoon across central and southeast Kansas.

  • Tonight – Mostly clear, with a low around 48. South wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
  • Wednesday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 13 to 18 mph increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.
  • Wednesday Night – Mostly clear, with a low around 52. South southwest wind 7 to 17 mph becoming east after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
  • Thursday – Sunny, with a high near 86. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 9 to 14 mph becoming south 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph.
  • Thursday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
  • Friday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Breezy.
  • Friday Night – A slight chance of rain showers before 3am, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
