Wichita Woman Killed in Marion County Crash

MARION COUNTY – Authorities say a Wichita woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County late Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Shelbi E. Kind, 22, was driving a 2000 Chevy pickup westbound on U.S. Highway 50 near Turkey Creek at about 4:41 p.m., when she crossed the center line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a 2016 Volvo semi driven by Daniel I. Coyle, 56, Hillsboro, Ohio.

Kind was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Frontier Forensics in Wichita. Coyle was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.
