UPDATE: A Saline County Sheriff’s deputy has been transported to the hospital after a two vehicle collision Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, a Buick passenger vehicle pulled out in front of the deputy’s vehicle in the 600 block of N. Santa Fe causing the collision. The deputy’s vehicle then jumped a curb and struck a parked semi.
The deputy, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Salina Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident happened just after 2 p.m.
More details are expected to be released at a later time.
The Salina Scoop has received a report of an injury accident that has occurred this afternoon.
According to the report, the accident, which occurred in the 600 block of N. Santa Fe just after 2 p.m., involved a law enforcement vehicle.
No information is currently available regarding the extent of injuries. The southbound lanes of Santa Fe have been closed at Decatur Street.
