GEARY COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities in Junction City are investigating an attempted murder and searching for three suspects in the case.

According to a media release, Junction City police officers were sent to Motel 6, 1931 Lacy Drive, just after 11 p.m. Thursday on a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. That subject, Trenton Penn, 19, Minneapolis, was life-flighted to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, where he is in stable condition.

Detectives determined through their initial investigation that the shooting occurred in a hotel room after a physical altercation between the occupants of the room and subjects who arrived a short time before the incident.

Morgan Fabre, 19, Manhattan, was arrested requested charges of conspiracy to commit pre-meditated first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and criminal threat. She is being held without bond pending a first court appearance.

Police were initially searching for three suspects: Cody Breeden, 24, Jeremy Breeden, 28, and Jeremy Garza, 27, all from Abilene, and all considered to be armed and dangerous, according to the release. Garza was located Friday by detectives and he has since been ruled out as a suspect. Both Cody and Jeremy Breeden are still being sought.

On Friday, police released a surveillance photo of a possible third suspect in the case and that identity of that individual is now being sought.
