UPDATE: Moundridge Man Hospitalized After Saline County Motorcycle Crash

UPDATE: A McPherson County man is in a Salina hospital after crashing his motorcycle near Salina Monday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Joel Hoffmann, 61, of Moundridge, was northbound on Interstate 135 at the junction with Interstate 70 just before 3:30 p.m., when he lost control of his motorcycle while exiting on to I-70. The motorcycle rolled through eastbound traffic and came to rest in the median.

Hoffmann was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries.

Hoffmann was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

BREAKING: Emergency crews have been sent to Interstate 70 in response to an accident involving a motorcycle at mile post 250.

Early reports indicate the rider was flipped off the motorcycle. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

The accident occurred just before 3:30 p.m.
