SALINE COUNTY – Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash in rural Saline County early Saturday afternoon.
Saline County Sheriff’s Captain Jim Hughes tells The Salina Scoop that Staci Duryea, 42, Abilene, was driving a 2009 Chevy Impala eastbound on Water Well Road at about 1:30 p.m., when she collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup driven by Ronald Watkins, 65, Halstead, that was traveling south on Donmyer Road. Watkins pickup was forced onto its side by the collision.
Duryea was transported by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of her injuries, the extent of which were not immediately known. Watkins initially refused treatment at the scene, but was later treated for a non-life threatening back injury.
No citations were issued due to the intersection being uncontrolled, according to Hughes.
