Two Inches of Snow Possible Today, Record Cold Possible Tonight

Snowfalls from a trace to around 2 inches are likely across Northern and Central Kansas today, but with northwest winds sustained from 25 to 40 mph, blowing snow would result and cause significantly reduced visibilities in these areas.

The bitterly cold weather that is tightening its grip on the Great Plains may produce record low temperatures in many areas tonight. Considering this is mid-April, furnaces would certainly be working overtime.
