Summer Temperatures Continue, Severe Storms Possible Tuesday

Temperatures will continue to rise through early next week. Brisk southerly winds will drive temperatures into the 80s or around 90 in some areas providing a taste of summer before the next storm system brings a chance for severe storms on Tuesday.

An approaching storm system will bring increasing chances for severe storms Tuesday and Tuesday night. The main hazards will be large hail and damaging winds. An unsettled weather pattern will bring additional chances for severe storms later in the week.

  • Tonight – Clear, with a low around 59. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
  • Sunday – Sunny, with a high near 87. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
  • Sunday Night – Mostly clear, with a low around 65. South wind 9 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
  • Monday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
  • Monday Night – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
  • Tuesday – A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Tuesday Night – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Breezy.
