“Storm Fury on the Plains” Coming to Salina in February

WICHITA – The National Weather Service office in Wichita in cooperation with Saline County Emergency Management will hold a weather safety presentation next month.

“Storm Fury on the Plains”, a storm spotter and storm safety presentation, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Salina South High School Auditorium, 730 E. Magnolia Rd.

The session is a multi-media presentation, which includes detailed video. This presentation typically takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and is open to the public. No prior experience is required and there is no registration necessary to attend.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Basic severe weather safety
  • Thunderstorm development & storm structure
  • What to look for
  • What, when, and how to report information
