Section of Shipton Road to Close Friday

SALINE COUNTY – A section of a Saline County road will be closed Friday to allow for an asphalt overlay project.

According to Saline County officials, Shipton Road, from Kansas Highway 143 to Ohio Street, is scheduled to temporarily be closed to through traffic during the day starting Friday morning, weather permitting, to permit APAC-Shears, Salina Division to place a bituminous asphalt overlay. Work is anticipated to be completed and Shipton Road reopened by the end of the workday on Saturday.

Owners of land along that stretch of Shipton Road will still be permitted to access their properties but only from the side of the work zone upon which their property lies.

Additionally, weather permitting, Donmyer Road from the Smoky Hill River Bridge to Old 40 Highway is scheduled to temporarily be closed to through traffic during the day starting Monday morning to permit APAC-Shears, Salina Division to place a bituminous asphalt overlay. Work is anticipated to be completed and Donmyer Road reopened by the end of the workday on October 19.

Owners of land along Donmyer Road between Smoky Hill River Bridge and Old 40 Highway will still be permitted to access their properties but only from the side of the work zone upon which their property lies.
