Old 40 Highway,from State Street to North Street, was reopened late Monday afternoon following completion of the replacement of the deteriorated four-barrel reinforced concrete box (RCB) drainage structure located 0.4 mile southwest of North Street (on the immediate west side of the railroad track crossing of Old 40 Highway).
Saline County opened bids on the Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB) and Rigid Frame Bridge (RFB) Construction projects on April 20, 2017. The low bidder on the project on the Old 40 Highway RCB replacement was Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Scandia. Reece was awarded a contract for $24,702.50.
The project is funded from the 2-mil fund for bridge and culvert replacement.
