Scattered Storms Expected Wednesday Afternoon and Evening

Scattered thunderstorms will affect mainly central and east-central Kansas Wednesday late afternoon and evening. A handful of strong to marginally severe storms are possible, capable of dime to quarter size hail, 50 to 60 mph winds and heavy rain.

  • Tonight – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 5 mph.
  • Wednesday – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. East wind 5 to 11 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.
  • Wednesday Night – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South southeast wind 6 to 9 mph.
  • Thursday – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. South wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
  • Thursday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
  • Friday – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 86.
  • Friday Night – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
  • Saturday – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85.
