Saline County Food Establishment and Lodging Inspections, February 3-9, 2018

Food Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Saline County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from February 3 through February 9, 2018.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

Econolodge Inn & Suites, 1846 N. 9th St. (Feburary 6) Routine Inspection
– Commerically prepared sausage gravy located inside reach-in cooler not dated when opened. Corrected on site: dated February 4 to February 10.
– Spray bottle of clear liquid not labeled with common name inside cabinet under 3 compartment sink. Corrected on site: labeled cleaner.

Ell-Saline High School, 414 E. Anderson St. – Brookville (February 5) Routine Inspection
– No violations.

GNC #7906, 2259 S. 9th St. (February 5) Routine Inspection
– “Everyman Jack” shampoo and personal care items stored on shelf above protein mixes in retail area and “StriVectin” topical personal care items stored above supplements on shelf for retail sale. Corrected on site: moved products below supplements and mixes.

Home Catering & Concessions, 309 E. 3rd St. – Brookville (February 5) Routine Inspection
– No violations.

IHOP, 2273 S. 9th St. (February 6) Routine Inspection
– Dried on food debris found on the guard of the stand mixer. Corrected on site: cleaned in place.

Kansas Highway Patrol Training Center, 2025 E. Iron Ave. (February 7) Routine Inspection
– Slicer stored as clean had dried on food debris under the blade area. Waffle maker stored inside of cupboard under milk machine was covered in dried on food debris. Salad bar interior, sneeze guard and sides had an accumulation of dried on food debris. Corrected on site: cleaned in place.
– Two spray bottles containing a yellow colored liquid stored under clean side of mechanical warewasher were not labeled with a common name. Corrected on site: labeled degreaser.

Kentucky Fried Chicken #106, 430 S. Broadway Blvd. (February 6) Complaint Inspection
– No violations.

Long McArthur Ford, 3450 S. 9th St. (February 6) Licensing Inspection
– No violations.

Red Lobster #0704, 2925 S. 9th St. (February 6) Routine Inspection
– Homemade lobster cream sauce had temperatured of 51 degrees F and diced tomatoes had temperature of 49 degrees F inside. Items were being held on ice next to stove since approximately 11 a.m. on day of inspection, temperature taken at 1:10 p.m. Corrected on site: moved to walk-in cooler to quick chill.
– Cut tomatoes and vegetable mix had temperatureof 49 degrees F and cut cabbage mix had temperature of 46 degrees F. Items were being held on ice on expo area counter top since approximately 11 a.m. on day of inspection, temperature taken at 1:15 p.m. Corrected on site: moved to reach-in cooler to quick chill.

Rendezvous Bar, 249 N. Santa Fe Ave. (February 5) Routine Inspection
– No violations.

Super 8 Motel, 705 W. Schilling Rd. (February 7) Routine Inspection
– No violations.

Taco Bell, 1700 W. Crawford St. (February 7) Routine Inspection
– Personal ice cream cone was stored uncovered inside freezer inside walk-in cooler.
– “ACE” bucket with bluish black crystals inside was not labeled with common name. Corrected on site: labeled de-icer.

Travelers Lodge, 245 S. Broadway Blvd. (February 6) Follow Up Inspection
– No ground fault circuit interrupters within 5 feet of hand washing sinks or sauna tub. person in charge. Person in charge has a case on gfci outlets, but electrician has not yet installed (repeat violation).
– Notice of non-compliance issued. Follow up inspection scheduled.
