Salina Man Hospitalized After Rollover Crash in Dickinson County

DICKINSON COUNTY – A Salina man was hospitalized after a rollover crash on Interstate 70 in Dickinson County early Thursday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Duane Davis, 61, was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon east on I-70 near mile post 283, three miles east of Mink Road, at about 65 to 70 miles-per-hour, when he was rear-ended by a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Homero Cardenas-Mendoza, 62, of Salina.

Davis’ Dodge slid into the median and rolled over three times before coming to rest on its roof.

Davis was taken to Abilene Memorial Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Cardenas-Mendoza, and three occupants of his vehicle, Petra A. Cardenas, 60, Jepte Cardenas, 8, and Angel Adrian, 9, all of Salina, were not injured.

All occupants of both vehicles were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 5:50 p.m.
