SALINA – Salina Central High School’s renovations and expansion are nearly finished and a celebration to celebrate the completion of the project has been planned for later this month.
On Monday, March 12 at 5 p.m., community members are invited to celebrate the completion of Salina Central High School’s 2014 bond work. The event will begin at the north entrance of the school with a ribbon cutting where guests will hear students in Free Spirit perform the school’s alma mater and band students perform their fight song.
Culinary arts, broadcast and robotics students will be demonstrating their skills, the new centrally-located media center will be open and the Central Perk will be serving free coffee. Student-led tours will be available (and guests are welcome to explore on their own).
The celebration begins at 5 p.m. at the school, 650 E. Crawford. The community is encouraged to visit the new career technical education, performing arts and stagecraft areas, centrally-located media center, controlled entryways, and many other improvements. Everyone is welcome and the event is free.
The USD 305 Board of Education has been invited to attend the event. No official board action will take place.
