SALINE COUNTY – A rural Saline County home was destroyed by fire early Sunday afternoon.
Saline County Sheriff’s Captain Jim Hughes tells The Salina Scoop the fire started inside the home at 801 N. Fairchilds Road just after 12 p.m. The owner of the home, Dan D’Albini, was not home at the time of the fire.
D’Albini indicated the home had been undergoing some interior renovations, but it was not clear if any of those renovations may have caused the fire.
No was one injured and all of D’Albini’s pets inside the home survived the blaze. Damage to the home, which is considered to be a total loss, is estimated to be in excess of $150,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but did not appear to suspicious, according to Hughes.
