Police Investigating Theft of Safe from South Salina Home

Salina Police are investigating the theft of a safe from a south Salina home Thursday afternoon.

According to Capt. Paul Forrester, Joshua Lainer, 36, called police after returning to his to home at 722 Greenbriar at about 2:30 p.m. and discovered that a safe was missing from a bedroom.

The safe, which was taken sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., reportedly contained $4,500 in cash, 110 Lortab pills and a spare car key.

There was no sign of forced entry and police are searching for a possible suspect, according to Forrester.

Total loss is the case has been estimated at $4,650.
