Manhattan Woman Hospitalized After Two Vehicle Crash in Dickinson County

DICKINSON COUNTY – A Manhattan woman was hospitalized after a two vehicle crash in Dickinson County Saturday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Lacy Joe Folsom, 24, was driving a 2004 Mazda 6 eastbound on Interstate 70, one mile north of Chapman, just after 9 p.m.

At the same time, a 2006 Mazda 3 driven by Bradford Wine, 52, Fontana, had just merged onto I-70 at the 286 on-ramp, when Folsom’s vehicle rear-ended Wine’s vehicle causing both to collide with the bridge rail. Both vehicles then came to rest in the left lane.

Folsom was taken to Geary Community Hospital in Junction City for treatment of her injuries, the extent of which were not immediately known. Wine, and two passengers, Victoria K. Shepard, 43, Fontana, and Destey Lane Kerr, 16, Fontana, were treated at the scene for possible injuries, but were not transported.

All four were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.
