Very high to extreme grassland fire danger today. Strong southerly winds are expected to range from 25 to 35 mph with some higher gusts, especially along and east of I-135. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for today. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Some counties have burn bans in effect, check with your local county authorities to see if your county has burn ban in effect.
We are in for a rather cold and windy Saturday with high temperatures expected to be as much as 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. Temperatures are expected to be so cold that snow is expected in Central and Northwest Kansas and a number record cold highs are in danger of being smashed. Winds will also be strong with winds speed of 25-35 mph with higher gusts possible. Bundle up for this late season blast of winter!
