Colorado Teen Killed in Ellsworth County Crash

ELLSWORTH COUNTY – A Colorado teenager died after a single vehicle crash in Ellsworth County early Friday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Annah Michaiah Dawn Rogers, 19, Monument, Colo., was driving a 2003 Subaru passenger car eastbound in the left lane of Interstate 70 about eight miles northeast of Ellsworth at about 12:30 p.m., when her vehicle crossed the center line and went off the right side of the roadway, overturned, and came to rest in the south ditch.

Rogers was transported to Salina Regional Health Center where she died. A passenger in the vehicle, Eason Nathaniel Rogers, 14, Monument, Colo., was not injured, but was taken to Ellsworth County Medical Center as a precaution.

Eason Rogers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Annah Rogers was not, according to the Highway Patrol.
