Salina’s Mid-State Plaza, 2450 S. 9th, is currently undergoing renovation to make way for two new stores.
According to the website for the plaza’s owner, Chase Properties of Beachwood, Ohio, the plaza will soon be home to Ulta Beauty and Five Below.
Ulta Beauty, based in Bolingbrook, Illinois, is a chain of beauty stores specializing in cosmetics, fragrances, skin care and and hair care products. The store also features an on-site salon.
Five Below, based in Philadephia, is a chain of discount stores that features merchandise priced at $5 and below, which is primarily aimed at an 18 and under demographic.
Ulta Beauty will occupy the space that was once home to Cici’s Pizza, Tom’s Appletree and Tuesday Morning. Five Below will open in the space that is currently home to Dollar General, which will close in the near future. Salina’s other three Dollar General locations will remain open.
Remodeling of the plaza began in April. According to Saline County records, a building permit was issued to Chase Properties on April 12th in the amount of $375,000 for an interior model.
Opening dates for Ulta Beauty and Five Below have not been announced.
