Bennington Woman Hospitalized After Saline County Accident

A Bennington woman was taken to a Salina hospital on Friday after a single vehicle accident caused by wet conditions.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Kathy Hartley-Stohs, 52, was northbound in the 6100 block of N. Ohio at about noon in her 2005 Chevy Siverado. Stohs said wet conditions caused her to lose control of the truck and it slid off the road. The truck then sank into the mud, stopping in a ditch.

Stohs was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with minor injuries, including neck pain and a possible head injury resulting from striking the truck’s steering wheel.

Continuous rainfall in the area caused road conditions to deteriorate late last week, making some spots treacherous to drive through.
