Below Zero Wind Chills Expected Friday Morning

With low temperatures dipping down into the single digits across most of central, south central, and southeast Kansas, very cold wind chills are expected across the area Friday morning. It will feel as cold as -10 in central Kansas and along the Flint Hills.

  • This Afternoon – Patchy blowing snow. Sunny, with a high near 20. Wind chill values as low as zero. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 23 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
  • Tonight – Patchy blowing snow before 7 p.m. Clear, with a low around 1. Wind chill values as low as -6. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 16 to 21 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
  • Friday – A 20 percent chance of snow showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -10. North wind 6 to 8 mph becoming east in the morning.
  • Friday Night – A 30 percent chance of snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 6. Wind chill values as low as -2. North wind around 8 mph.
  • Saturday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 19. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming east in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10.
  • Sunday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
  • Sunday Night – A 40 percent chance of snow showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18.
