MCPHERSON – Television personalities Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are planning to film episodes of the hit series American Pickers throughout Kansas this May. AMERICAN PICKERS is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on History. The hit show follows Mike and Frank, two of the most skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. The are always excited to find sizable, unique collections or accumulations and learn the interesting stories behind them.

As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. The pair hopes to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.

Mike and Frank have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are always looking to discover something they’ve never seen before. They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them. AMERICAN PICKERS is looking for leads and would love to explore your hidden treasure. If you or someone you know has a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through, send your name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-OLD-RUST.

  20. It would be worth it to come to Wichita Kansas my family has two trailers that it took one man thirty seven years to build and it was built and put together in the twenty’s and they are miniatures that all move and are powered by old washing machaine motors it’s called miniature working world. It has an old frontier world and Carnival world with some of the old rides. You can see some of them on utube under miniature working world and I think it’s under # 1

    1. If you would like to get ahold of me about the toy trailers you can call me at 316-461-4232 my name is Dennis Clevenger

  21. They will haggle you down to where you get nothing and turn around sell it for a big prophet. I saw them to do that to an elderly woman in Az. they are crooks

    1. it’s profit. They have the overhead of a retail store so they need to make money as well. I have seen them pay good money for rusty old junk. I have also seen them pay someone more than what the seller asked for. So I don’t think they are crooks….they are successful business owners.

      1. Karen King whatever the lady in AZ got for her items is more money than she had before she sold them. If she had no need for them and they were just taking up space I would think she would be glad to get whatever for the items. Also do you realize how many factors there are to consider when buying antiques and collectibles. Just because one person gets $50 for an item doesn’t mean everyone will get $50 for same type of item. Do you know exactly what the age, condition and other factors of the items the lady in AZ sold? She may have gotten a good price for what she sold.
        And Michael B. Great reply!

      2. They don’t make much off the junk, they make millions off the show.

  22. Wally Lankford Galena, Kansas has a lot of stuff you would love to go though

  23. You could have a great time at Stephen Buckler’s place. He ran out of room in his home and has since taken over every spot on the land. The ultimate antique and collectible hoarder.
