Abilene Teenager Killed in I-70 Rollover Accident

DICKINSON COUNTY – An Abilene teenager died Tuesday morning in a rollover accident on Interstate 70 in Dickinson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Mariah M. Lowe, 18, was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra eastbound on I-70 near mile marker 284, about nine miles east of Abilene, when she left the road on the south side for unknown reasons.

The vehicle continued to travel east, struck a concrete culvert, overturned, and caught fire.

Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Danner Funeral Home in Abilene.

Lowe was properly restrained at the time of the accident, which occurred at about 8:46 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
