This year’s event will benefit Tyler and Crystal Vancoevern and their young son, Kyzer.
Baby Kyzer was born by emergency C-Section on September 11, 2016 at only 28 weeks gestation weighing 3 pounds and 8 ounces. Upon delivery, Kyzer was taken to Wesley Medical Center where he received a blood transfusion due to blood loss during birth and spent 70 days in the NICU until he was strong enough to breathe on his own.
Kyzer’s parents have endured a lot since he was born. Several trips to Wichita to stay with Kyzer while trying to care for two boys at home. After being home less than two months, Kyzer was taken to Salina Regional Health Center and placed on oxygen and IV fluids and tested positive for RSV on January 17th. He was taken by ambulance to Wesley Medical Center where they confirmed RSV and pneumonia.
“With this being the second extended hospital stay, Kyzer’s parents have depleted their leave for work and could really use some assistance to help with medical bills,” said Saline County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Ascher, the organizer of the 10-FORE charity event. “Many of you know Tyler and Crystal and if you’re not a golfer, but would still like to help, you can make a donation to Salina Guns & Hoses.” 100% of all donations will be given to the Vancoevern family.
Registration for the golf tournament is $85 per player or $340 per team.
The event will also feature a raffle for prize packages, which include the opportunity to play at many golf courses around the area. There will be a total of four prize packages. Three packages come with four courses and the other package has three courses plus a 1-hour golf lesson with the PGA Club Professional at Prairie Highlands in Olathe.
The raffle will be held the day of the event. Those not participating in the tournament can take part in the raffle by contact Lt. Ascher for details. More information on the raffle, including tickets prices and prize packages, click here.
